Daehwa and Goyang Soccer Stadium

Posted by Tony Rubino Monday, November 2, 2009

I almost forgot to post about this.  Andrew Ryan and I decided to explore the city of Daehwa about a week or so ago.  Daehwa is right at the end of our subway line and we had heard that it was pretty nice there.  As it turns out there isn’t much to see in Daehwa…except Goyang Soccer Stadium.  This was one of the venues used during the World Cup soccer tournament.  For me that was the highlight of our trip but not because there was a game on or anything but because we were able to explore the inside of the stadium and even go down onto the field.  It turns out that the stadium is open to the public.  People use it for rollerblading, running and general recreation.  But you can’t play on the grass.  Here are my pictures from our Daehwa trip.
