Palawan isn’t the largest of the Philippine islands but it is one of the longest. Much like most of the Philippines it’s a tropical paradise with lots to see and do. The airport at which we arrived is located in Palawan’s largest city and capital, Puerto Princesa. As soon as we stepped out of the airport it was immediately clear this was no Manila. Puerto Princesa has a much more relaxed feel than Manila. Perhaps it was the combination of rural setting with lush green mountains always surrounding us and smaller less dense neighbourhoods. Puerto Princesa seemed to be a place where people chose to live unlike Manila where I got the sense that some (many) had to live there simply to survive.
The trip thus far...and to come...
Here we are preparing to depart from Manila’s domestic airport (1st Stop) on our way to Puerto Princesa in Palawan (2nd stop).
And here we are at our destination Puerto Princesa.
We were met by a driver sent by our hotel D’ Lucky Inn...yup that’s what it was called. It was an easy drive and I was thankful to not have to get a Jeepney. Here are some pictures from our hotel.
Next time...what we did in Palawan...
