A very popular tourist package in the Philippines is the Island Hop. As the name suggests you jump in a boat and hop from exotic island to exotic island stopping to scuba dive, eat and sunburn.
It’s amazing how much easier it is to swim in salt water. I am a poor to average swimmer but in salt water the human body is much more buoyant. Combine that with flippers and a mask and I felt truly free. Snorkelling was tons of fun and my favourite part of the island hop.
Waiting for our giant balangay to arrive...and our ride in it.
This is the first island that we went to and where we had lunch. I wish I could eat lunch in a setting like this everyday.
Snorkelling...love it!!! But we did not have an underwater camera...so these are some pictures I found online in order to give context to my comments...yes I really did go to the Philippines!!! So I saw a parrot fish...2 puffer fishes (for real) and other fish...and it looked like this...
Here is my favourite island. I don’t remember what it was called. The sand at all of these islands is actual made up of dead coral that are been pulverized in the surf and bleached white by the sun. It look beautiful but is abrasive on the feet. Just walk around for a few hours and instant foot exfoliation. Here are some pictures that Ryan took. His best ones from the trip I think.
Don’t step on the starfish...and...don’t spill your beer...either of them. Canadians!
Until next time...
